Child Contact & Inclusion Policy. This organisation is about the rights of the child and it would not be right to exclude those young persons that wish to secure the destiny of their own age group. Young people are therefore not only welcome to be involved but encouraged to do so. Child Safety.Where possible young people should become involved with the issues of genital mutilation through young persons groups already established and feed their input to SMC via that route. Those that are above school leaving age are welcome to be directly involved but all below the age of 18 must not under any circumstances become involved with anyone claiming to be acting on behalf of SMC. Any contact with members of SMC will be in a supervised and controlled environment. If any claims or approaches are made other than outlined above, report the incident to an appropriate adult without delay.

The circumcision of any child without unavoidable medical need is an abuse of human rights of the child and the adult the child will become. It is a barbaric act of sexual abuse which degrades and shames any society that allows it. |
